1928 Riley 9 Monaco
£8,250
Location: Cranleigh
The Riley Nine was one of the most successful light sporting cars produced by the British motor industry in the inter war period. It was made by the Riley company of Coventry, England with a wide range of body styles between 1926 and 1938.
This Riley 9 Monaco was registered on the 23rd of May 1928 in Maidstone Kent, and only has two previous owners.
The engine starts and runs very well, it sounds lovely and preforms just how a Riley should. It bombs along, has great oil pressure and plenty of power. All fluids are in the correct places and there is no frost damage. The charging system is in working order as well as the lights, it has also been fitted with indicators for modern driving.
The drivetrain is lovely, it changes gear perfectly with no nasty noises and the clutch is smooth. It handles very well and the brakes are very good.
The bodywork is in good order and the fabric has been replaced at some point with the correct style of covering. The interior is complete and has had new carpets recently. The bonnet and wings have been painted to a high standard and have now mellowed with the body, the wheels also look like they have been refurbished.
