1974 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow

£5,500

Location: Cranleigh

The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is a full-size luxury car produced by British automaker Rolls-Royce in various forms from 1965 to 1980. It was originally intended to be called Rolls-Royce Silver Mist, but was replaced with Silver Shadow at the last minute due to Mist meaning "manure" in German. It was designed with several modernisations in response to concerns that the company was falling behind in automotive innovation and was the first of the marque to use unitary body and chassis construction.

Registered on the 17th May 1974 this Rolls Royce Silver Shadow has been in long term ownership since 1996.

The car has been stood for the last 10 years and is now due for some light recommissioning. It starts and runs well, with no leaks although it does have what sounds like a lazy hydraulic tappet - this will need investigating. We have driven the car for a very short period and it seems like at least one brake caliper is likely to binding - however it does have brakes!

The body is in good order and its very solid, there is some bubbling to the OSR lower quarter, and a very small area to the NS outer sill otherwise it looks corrosion free. The paint work shines very nicely and although not immaculate it does present very well. It is also fitted with the attractive later Shadow 2 front and rear bumpers.

The interior is very original and complete with the right carpets and matts. The correct Avon tyres are fitted which have good tread and are not perished.

We have the current V5 and some history including old MOTs.

Although the car does run and drive we recommend that it is transported, some work is likely to be required before returning to the road on any long journeys so please bear that in mind - it is a project!

Please feel free to contact us for further information or to arrange a viewing - a walk around video is available that can be shared.
