1983 Citroen 2CV
Sold
Location: Cranleigh
Similar to its German Cousin the Volkswagen Beetle, the Citroen 2CV was created in the 1930s to make motorcars affordable to regular people. Going into large scale production in the late 1940s, it featured an air cooled boxer engine at the same end as the drive axle which negated the need for a lengthy drive shaft often associated with other cars at this time. A very familiar and recognisable vehicle these days, it's one of the few cars in production that remained as a single generation for over 40 years.
This 2CV was registered on 01/03/1983 in Chelmsford, Essex. More recently the car spent a period in Spain as well as West Sussex with the previous owner.
The car starts and runs well, it bombs along and there are no nasty noises. The clutch and gears are direct and drives just how a 2CV should.
The brakes are very good, it has nearly new tyres with perfect tread and handles like a typical 2CV.
There is no corrosion to the underside, there is evidence of some previous work however this has been carried out to a high standard. Recently treated with a coat of Lanoguard the underside is not covered in thick underseal hiding any sins.
The interior is in good order and has had new seat covers fitted, the roof is also in good order with no rips or tears.
The 2CV is TAX and MOT exempt, however does come with an MOT until 04/26 and the V5 is present.
